The first meeting of the Hedgehog Project Core Group will bring together the volunteers who stepped forward at the inaugural workshop on the 11th August, to help shape community action for hedgehogs in the area. This session will set the foundations for the project: agreeing how we communicate good hedgehog care, how neighbourhood “Hedgehog Streets” might work, how we measure impact, and how we approach safe, high‑quality houses and feeding stations.
The Core Group will also establish how it wants to work together, meeting frequency, roles, and ways of involving wider volunteers, so the project can grow with confidence and shared ownership.
This is a working session for the core group, published here because it marks an important moment: the beginning of a community‑led hedgehog initiative supported by Haslemere Biodiversity.
